This CPD course is all about how to support clients in the therapy room who have a background in sex work.

T his CPD is worth a total of 12 hours of CPD credits.

T imes:

14th September 10am – 4.30pm

15th September 10am – 4.30pm

The course will run on two days and will be recorded with 30 days of access.

Who’s This Course For?

The CPD is intended for those who support sex workers. There is discussions around therapeutic methods and support and those with a background in therapy and psychotherapy may find past training supports their experience through the CPD. Other professionals that may benefit from this course are sexual wellness practitioners, psychosexual medicine clinicians, social works, charity workers who support from various backgrounds from sexual health to domestic abuse.

W hat is Covered on this Course?

During the 12 hours of study you will receive knowledge to support you to be inclusive within your private practice when supporting sex workers.

Not only does the course cover things such as sex work and the law, we will also look into how sex work may bring other challenges into your client’s life. There will be case studies and practical tips that you can take away to help apply what you’ve learnt within the training in your real life supportive role.

There will also be some reflective moments where we will go into how it can challenge biases within the therapy room for some.

– Basics on addiction, chems, reactionals and how these may have a role in wellbeing

– Psychosexual challenges some may experience outside of work

– Trauma and sex work

– Disability and sex work

– Clients and dynamics including stalking

– Vicarious Trauma

Who is the trainer?

Ness Cooper is a Clinical Sexologist who works online in Private Practice. She has over 15 years working within the field of human sexuality, and has even written a paper on sex work, disability and BDSM. Over the years not only has she worked with individuals, couples, and polyam+ she also teaches and runs workshops worldwide. She has written for magazines such as Cosmopolitan, BMJ, Marie Claire, and more on issues around human sexuality and worked as an expert for Lovehoney and Je Joue. Ness is also regularly featured in the press, Vogue, BBC, PsychReg, and more.

How many can attend the training?

Each ticket allows admission for one individual via zoom. If you’re interested in group training in the future please do get in touch

Are there breaks?

Yes, we will have a few breaks including one for lunch.
