Brief Description:

In this two-part case study webinar series, seasoned sex therapist Linda Weiner presents advanced sex therapy interventions combined with modifications in Sensate Focus touch with a focus on challenging client cases. Participants will explore client cases, including low desire, vaginismus, erectile dysfunction, and delayed ejaculation, with a lens to the cultural psychological, physical/medical and relational factors contributing to the complexity. Group discussion will follow each case presentation, providing opportunities for clinicians to expand their knowledge and share some of their own approaches with difficult client cases. Would you have used an IFS intervention here or a somatic one?

Ideal for therapists, counselors and health professionals, each session offers 3 AASECT CE credits.

What You Can Expect:

Over two 3-hour sessions, held on (Thursday, November 7 & Thursday, November 14 2024) (9 -12 pm CST), you will participate in live discussions that combine client case presentations with peer feedback. The goal of this series is to help participants refine their understanding of the factors that create treatment roadblocks and challenges and discover new approaches to add to their toolbox.

Session 1: Thursday, November 7

Topic: Female-Bodied Clients
Focus: Client case presentations on low sexual desire and vaginismus
In this session, Linda will introduce challenging client cases involving female-bodied clients with issues of low desire and vaginismus. Participants will explore the cultural, psychological, physical/medical, and relational factors that contribute to these challenges. Interactive group discussions will encourage collaboration and input, allowing you to multiply the possibilities for intervention in your own practices.

Session 2: Thursday, November 14

Topic: Male-Bodied Clients
Focus: Client case presentations on erectile dysfunction and delayed ejaculation
This session will focus on male-bodied clients dealing with erectile dysfunction and delayed ejaculation. Linda will present client case studies that highlight the multifaceted issues involved, including trauma, religious orthodoxy, personality traits, partner dynamics, and more. As with the first session, participants will engage in discussion after each case presentation to share strategies for addressing these complex issues.
